Black Breast Feeding Week 2023

World Black Breastfeeding Week for 2023 is coming up and this will be my second time participating. I continue to breastfeed my daughter because of all the benefits for her development, and the bonding we share and to be frank, it’s easier than having to get up to make a bottle in the middle of the night.

Last Week I host two events hosting Mommy and Me Painting Sessions. We really wanted it to be outdoors but the rain has been unpredictable lately so we took the event indoors.

My next event will be held on August 26th, 2023 with Chocolate Milk Café. I co-facilitate with my peers and we share our experiences on lactation and life. Chocolate Milk Cafe and Mama’s Milk through my local WIC program were two communities outside of my family and friends that helped me to Breastfeed this long.

I do believe I am slowly in the process of my weaning journey. But we will talk more about this in another post.
