Prayer Through a Psalm
Today we read Psalm 113:1-9The Message:
Hallelujah! You who serve God, praise God!
Just to speak his name is praise!
Just to remember God is a blessing—
now and tomorrow and always.
From east to west, from dawn to dusk,
keep lifting all your praises to God!
4-9God is higher than anything and anyone,
outshining everything you can see in the skies.
Who can compare with God, our God,
so majestically enthroned,
Surveying his magnificent
heavens and earth?
He picks up the poor from out of the dirt,
rescues the wretched who’ve been thrown out with the trash,
Seats them among the honored guests,
a place of honor among the brightest and best.
He gives childless couples a family,
gives them joy as the parents of children.
Hallelujah!
I was introduced to Praying through a Psalm. You read a verse and offer a prayer back to the Lord. This was something new for me because I am used to reading the Psalm and then doing a prayer afterward. It helped me, in terms of trying to understand what the scripture was saying.
How many of you get to sing a song before PRAYER at WORK? Before we read the Psalm and offered our prayers and requests, we sang “O Give Thanks Unto The Lord”. For he is good, YES he is Good.
