I realized a while ago that my mom doesn’t have all the answers in life, but when I was younger she was my superwoman. (She still is!) I now know that when ever she didn’t know the answer to something she would say to me, “figure it out”. She didn’t give me any direction of what steps to take, it was my sole responsibility to “figure it out”. I think this was both a good and a bad thing. It forced me to think outside the box and come up with solutions on my own. However, sometimes you don’t want to think so hard you just want the answers!
So What am I trying to figure out now?
I REALLY want to teach on a university level. I don’t want to take out TONS of loans. Besides my credit is not so great due to some of those loans. (I’m working on that). The reoccurring question that comes through my mind is, do I have to get a master’s degree to get to where I want to go. There are other things I aspire to do, like have my own design studio, and MAYBE even a personal shoe line – maybe. One other thing I’d like to develop is a scholarship fund. There are too many talented people in the arts, who can’t afford to go to their school of choice due to financial difficulties.
So where do I start? I’ve gotten into the school of my choice, but I’ve delayed my acceptance. I don’t want to get stuck doing something I don’t want to do for the rest of my life, however I know that sometimes you need to do something to pay the bills.
So this is what I am trying to figure out. Go back to school? Create my own business? Stay where I am…. <- never! Let’s move forward, and like my mom always says, “figure it out.”
An update for my January goals:
Don’t think I forgot!!!! I think I am on track with my weekly posts…..
I’ve completed the book “How to think like Leonardo Da Vinci”. A great read to learn how to expand your thinking, learn how to mind map, and focus your thinking.
I decided to pick up the paint brush and make some hand letter inspiration quotes. So far one is complete. I think I can finish another and make a “dream series”.
My belt sketches has turned into doing a different project.
And the 5lb drop for this month is on track.
I need to send out my sisterhood packages, but I haven’t completed additional jewelry pieces.
